2018 Holiday Gift Guide

2018 Holiday Gift Guide

Giving is much more fun than receiving so I have put together a list of my favorite Holiday gifts for everyone from the cook to the fashionista!…Happy Gifting.

Whether used for dipping or heating top quality olive oil is a must in any kitchen.   Vines and Branches has a wonderful selection of organic naturally infused olive oils  that will make your taste buds sing.

Penzey’s  Spices are my absolute favorite! Choose from a selection of dry rubs for grilling and herbs for soups, stews, salads or baking.  They have every spice you can imagine and a wonderful selection of gift sets to make any chef smile.

This is the only skillet they will ever need!  I’ve had my All Clad skillet for 14 years and it still sears everything perfectly.  The 12” size is small enough for every day cooking for 2 but large enough to accommodate a few guests.  This investment piece will stay with them forever.

The Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer is the perfect luxury gift for the baker.

From needing dough, to creaming butter this mixer is on every bakers wish list. With loads of color options to choose from it will go wonderfully with any kitchen décor.

Custom Jewelry

I’m obsessed with these handmade jewelry pieces from Mary’s Hands Jewelry.  You can choose from already made items or have Mary customize names, boroughs or whatever you like.  Hand made in Brooklyn in gold plated or sterling silver these are a great gift for any fashionista.

From Chanel to Louis Vuitton every major fashion house has a book or 2 chronicling the history of their work.  These can tend to be pricey but recently I found shelves full of them for 1/2 price at Home Sense.  I’ve also seen numerous titles discounted on Amazon.  These make for great coffee table books for any fashionista’s home.

A true fashionista is stylish right down to their socks, and this men’s pair from Gucci are oh so  chic.  While these are in a luxury price point, you can also check out Hot Sox for fun styles that are more wallet friendly.

Coloring isn’t just for kids, in fact coloring is actually a form of meditation.  This Meditation Coloring Book is proven to reduce stress and spark creativity.   Include a pack of beautiful metallic pencils for a creative and relaxing gift.

You’ll be thought of every time they step on the mat with these Yogi Toes mat covers from Manduka.    Whether practicing in a hot room or not they prevent slipping and sliding down the mat and absorb sweat like a champ.  There are many wonderful prints to choose from and they last forever.

This engaging deck makes bringing awareness, calm, and joy to everyday life easy. Each card includes an inspiring phrase on the front and a bite-size mindfulness exercise on the back.

This is my favorite coffee maker and I have had quite a few….it’s simply ingenious.  This time-honored Italian stovetop coffee maker is re-interpreted in rich red. Just fill the base of this espresso-lover’s essential with water and the filter with ground coffee or espresso and place on any heating surface. Water is forced upward through the coffee, percolating a fresh pot in minutes.  Include a can of Illy Coffee for a coffee lovers dream.

Surprise your friends and family with framed pictures of some of there favorite photos from Instagram.  It’s super easy using Framebridge and it’s always special to have actual framed photo in the house,  especially in this age of digital everything.

This limited edition marble diffuser from Saje will infuse the air with the vitality of nature, enhance well being and create a soothing atmosphere by bringing the power of 100% natural essential oils into the home.

I’m a huge fan of massages, facials, mani’s, pedi’s and all things having to do with self care or pampering.  While gift certificates for these types of services are always appreciated it’s extra special when the person gifting them has taken the time to find out the places that I frequent and purchases them from there.  Most people have there favorite manicurist or massage therapist so do a little research first to make the gift more thoughtful.

Whatever the interest…cooking, floral design, painting, tech, performing arts you name it Course Horse has a class for it, and gifting an experience is always a perfect way to go.  You can choose the experience you would like to give,  or order E gift cards in dollar amounts online and have them sent right to the recipients in box.   One of my friends starting gifting me experience gifts a few years ago and each year since I look forward to creating new memories together.
